Far away, beyond Atlantic Ocean, beyond culturally advanced and peaceful central Europe, beyond inhospitable cold Alps laid a country known in the old world as the land of Eagles. The eagles had two heads, one looking towards the east and the other one towards the west. The land stretched between the Middle East and the Western World. Customs were a bizarre blend of Eastern and Western traditions. The country was part of a bigger state called Yugoslavia. It was formed in 1943 by the end of the Second World War. It was a very diverse country in terms of languages, religions and traditions. Yugoslavia started falling apart in 1981 and finally was dissected into its precursors in early 2000. The home country nowadays it is called Kosovo.
On the other side of the globe stretched one of the states of the USA, as big as France, as wet as rain forests. People there are pale skinned because there is not so much sun. Everyone seems to be relaxed and in harmony with nature. The state is called Oregon and pale skinned inhabitants are known as Oregonians.
I am from the former country and she is from the latter country.
