The Juniku Family Tree

I grew up with my mother (Sahadete), sister (Romina), grandparents (Dobrila and Tefik), cousines (Dorian, Arian and Elidora), aunt (Zekije) and uncle (Bujar) (overall 10 family members). As mos of folks from South East of Europe, I am very attached to my family. My family, culture and heritage mean the world to him. I grew up in a very ethnically mixed family, which was very common in the former Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. My grandmother was from Montenegro (Dobrila Zecevic) and my grandfather (Tefik Juniku) was from Kosovo. I am proud of both my heritages.

My dad and uncle studied law together in Zagreb, Croatia, which was a very renowned school at that time. After his graduation, he came back to my home town and married my mother. He worked at a high school called “Bedri Pejani” as assistant principle and a lecturer. His passion was cars by all means. He knew them inside out. He died in a car accident when he was just 27 years old. I was only 2 years and 4 months old whereas my sister was merely an infant. My mother never married again as it was considered socially unacceptable at that time.
