Doruntina turned one year old!
We went to Donovan’s farm and cut down a Christmas tree – Doruntina’s first one.
It is thanksgiving. We are heading out to see Alicia’s family from her dad’s side in Washington. This is our third time meeting them, but the first time with Doruntina. We spent two wonderful nights at aunt Rebecca’s and uncle Randy’s house (Alicia’s aunt and uncle) in Eagle Creek.
I am a permanent resident as of today. No more dealing with visas and the international office.
It is that time of year when pumpkins are in order. Three of us spent some time with Doruntina’s grandfather and grandmother in Portland. Although we acquired pumpkins, this year we did not carve them. Regardless, It was fun spending some time with the grandparents. See picture here.
Doruntina is 9 months old and already has four teeth ! She is 28.5 inch (0.72 m) tall and weights 17.8 lbs (8.1 kg).
We took the train and went to Seattle and spent three wonderful days. We went to pay our respects to Bruce Lee. I wish I met him alive but it feels as if I know him all my life. See picture here.
We went camping in the Cascade Mountains. Our first night was at the Blue Pool Campground, close to hot springs. The next day we went on an adventure to Crater Lake. The land around Crater Lake seemed like a post-apocalyptic wasteland; we left and happily adjourned to Odell Lake at the Prince Creek Campground, which was splendid, and we would like to return next year for more fun. See picture here.
Today we spent the day at the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport. We saw many fascinating fish in there. Dora was overwhelmed with joy and wonder. On the way out we took few pictures in the photo booth.

Doruntina is 7 months old. We spend Saturday at Alsea Falls camping site. We were woken many times during the night by owls. The aftermath of camping: a lot of mosquito bites all over our bodies. Doruntina survived intact. She was too cute even for mosquitos.
It has been one year since we married !
Today I turned 37 years old ! We invited my lab mates and some other friends. Drinks, food and cake. See pics here.
What a beautiful day was today! We are so happy that spring is finally in our midst. We went hiking in Alsea Falls recreation site, a pretty neat place ! Click here to see pictures.
We went to Portland to meet grandmother Jan. This is the second Dora's trip to Portland. We had lunch with Gerret and Annemaire, Alicia's sister. On the way back we met Alicia’s parents and had a tea at the beanery. Click here to see the pics.
Today Dora met grandmother Jan for the first time. We paid a vist to Alicia's dad and his great uncle Merlin (who turned 89 just few days ago).
